Purpose
The CBC test analyzes red and white blood cells and platelets to detect infections, anemia, inflammation, and blood disorders. Doctors perform the test when symptoms like fatigue, fever, weakness, or unexplained bleeding occur to identify underlying causes.
They may pair it with ESR, CRP, iron studies, vitamin B12, or folate tests for a more complete and accurate health evaluation. Doctors may also order it during routine checkups or monitor ongoing medical conditions, or assess the effectiveness of treatment.

The Complete Blood Count (CBC) provides important indicators such as low or high red blood cell count (anemia or dehydration), elevated white blood cells (infection or inflammation), abnormal platelet levels (bleeding or clotting disorders), and hematocrit levels, which can point to various blood-related conditions and health issues.
