Mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I) is a condition that affects many parts of the body.

Signs and Symptoms
Typically no signs and symptoms are present at birth. Other characteristics of the disorder that slowly progress include large head, fluid in the brain, heart abnormalities, large tongue, upper respiratory infection, clouding of cornea resulting in vision loss, and hearing loss. Severely affected individuals eventually lose basic motor skills.
